PRIVACY POLICY

  • Last updated July 31, 2026.
  • Everyday Eat Club doesn’t require logins or take personal data directly.
  • We do use cookies and some outside services to improve your visit.

Hi, and thanks for stopping by Everyday Eat Club! This page explains, in plain language, what happens to your information when you visit my site, read a recipe, leave a comment, or sign up for my newsletter. I’ve tried to write it the way I’d explain it to a friend rather than in dense legal jargon, but it’s still a legally required page, so it covers everything it needs to.

Who I Am

Everyday Eat Club is a personal food and recipe blog run by Linda. I’m the one writing the recipes, testing them in my own kitchen, and running this site, so when this policy says “we” or “I,” that’s who I mean.

The site is built on WordPress, using the Elementor page builder, along with a handful of plugins to help things run smoothly (comments, recipe cards, contact forms, and site speed/security tools). Some of those plugins and the services below place cookies or collect data on my behalf, which is why they’re listed out in detail below.

What Information I Collect

Information you give me directly

  • Newsletter sign-up: your name and email address, if you choose to subscribe.
  • Comments on recipes or posts: your name, email, and whatever website you list (all optional except for spam prevention), plus the comment itself.
  • Contact form: your name, email, and message, if you reach out to me.

I only ever use this to reply to you, send the newsletter you signed up for, or manage comments never to sell to anyone else.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, mine picks up some technical information automatically when you visit:

  • IP address (usually stored anonymized or in aggregate through analytics tools)
  • Browser and device type
  • Pages viewed, time spent on the site, and the page that referred you here
  • General location (country/city level, not your exact address)

This helps me understand which recipes people love, what’s not working on the site, and how to make things better.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. My site uses them for a few reasons:

  • Essential cookies:  needed for basic site functions like remembering if you’re logged in to comment, or your cookie consent choice.
  • Analytics cookies:  help me see how visitors use the site (see Google Analytics below).
  • Advertising cookies: used by Google and its advertising partners to show ads and measure how effective they are.
  • Functional cookies:  things like remembering if you’ve saved a recipe or adjusted a serving size.

You’re always in control of cookies through your browser settings, and (as required in the EU/UK) through the consent banner that appears on your first visit.

Google AdSense & Advertising

This site is monetized in part through Google AdSense. Here’s what that means in practice:

  • Google and its partners use cookies (including the DoubleClick/DART cookie) to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
  • These ads may be personalized based on your browsing activity, unless you’ve opted out.
  • You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings or the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.
  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on someone’s prior visits to this website or other websites.

If you’re visiting from the EU, UK, or a region requiring specific ad consent, you’ll see a cookie/consent banner before ads are personalized. This is managed through a consent management tool in line with Google’s EU user consent requirements, no personalized ads are shown until you’ve made a choice.

I may also occasionally work with other advertising networks or sponsored content. If a post is sponsored or contains a paid partnership, I disclose it clearly within that post, in line with FTC guidelines.

Affiliate Links

Some posts on Everyday Eat Club contain affiliate links for example, to kitchen tools, cookbooks, or ingredients I genuinely use and recommend, through programs like the Amazon Associates Program. If you click through and make a purchase, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This never affects which products I recommend; I only link to things I’d suggest anyway.

Analytics

I use Google Analytics (and may occasionally use Jetpack Stats or similar WordPress plugins) to understand traffic patterns, things like which recipes are most popular, how people find the site, and where visitors are coming from. This data is aggregated and doesn’t identify you personally. You can learn more about how Google handles this data in Google’s Privacy Policy or opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Comments

If you leave a comment, it’s stored along with your name, email, and IP address, mainly to help catch spam automatically (I use a spam-filtering plugin for this). Your comment and display name will be publicly visible under the post. Your email address is never shown publicly or shared.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to my newsletter, your email is stored with a third-party email service provider (such as Mailchimp or ConvertKit) solely to send you recipe updates and site news. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email.

Embedded Content & Social Media

Some posts may include embedded content a Pinterest pin, an Instagram photo, a YouTube video, or similar. These embeds behave exactly as if you’d visited that third-party site directly: they may collect data about you, use cookies, and track your interaction with the embedded content, according to their own privacy policies, not mine.

Children's Privacy

Everyday Eat Club is a general-audience food blog and isn’t directed at children. I don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (or under 16 where local law requires). If you believe a child has shared personal information with me, please reach out and I’ll remove it right away.

Your Rights

Wherever you’re located, you generally have the right to:

  • Know what personal data I hold about you
  • Ask me to correct or delete it
  • Withdraw consent (like unsubscribing from the newsletter)
  • Object to certain uses of your data

If you’re in the EU or UK (GDPR): these rights apply to you in full, and you can also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you feel it’s necessary.

If you’re in California (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know, delete, and opt out of the “sale” of personal information. I don’t sell personal information, and I don’t plan to.

To exercise any of these, just email me. I handle these personally and will respond promptly.

How I Keep Your Data Secure

I take reasonable steps to protect the information collected through this site using a reputable WordPress host, keeping plugins and themes updated, and using SSL encryption (the padlock you see in your browser bar) across the whole site. That said, no website can guarantee 100% security, so please keep that in mind when sharing information online, here or anywhere else.

Links to Other Websites

You’ll find plenty of outbound links here to other food bloggers, brands, recipe sources, or products I recommend. Once you click through, you’re subject to that site’s own privacy practices, which I have no control over. I’d encourage you to check their policies too.

Changes to This Policy

I may update this page occasionally to reflect a new plugin, a new advertising partner, or a change in the law. The “Last updated” date at the top will always reflect the most recent version. If changes are significant, I’ll make that clear on the site itself.
